EU-Demand in the United States to combat drug trafficking tighten

United States is demanded to combat drug trafficking tighter.

At a hearing in the Western Hemisphere subcommittee, Republicans said that the Merida Initiative has failed and that both countries must recognize that drug cartelsrepresent an insurgency.

"The current EU policy toward Mexico is not seriously attacking national securitychallenge we face. It is time we recognized the need for a counterinsurgency strategy tocombat evolution and resilience of transnational criminal organizations in Mexico," saidConnie Mack, chairman of the subcommittee and unwavering critic of the Democratic administration.

"We need a new way. The Merida Initiative has been chronic delays and challenges of implementation. The Obama administration has failed to put specific dates, tangible goals or strategic guidance to ensure the successful use of these funds," Mack said in the first statement Republicans in this regard.
