Bed-ridden Spanish bobbies

ALMOST the entire police force of an Andalucian town have gone on sick leave in a dispute over pay.

Fourteen officers from Valverde del Camino in Huelva staged a sit-in protest at the town hall, after not receiving their salaries for four months.

The bobbies denied they were on strike – which is illegal for police – instead producing sick notes from doctors claiming they were psychologically unfit for work.
